The Premises
Whether
living on-site, or commuting in from Paris or elsewhere each day, your
efforts will benefit greatly from a charming and exceptionally
attractive environment. No other TEFL Course in France can match our
unique situation, where making friends is easy and the absorbing and
putting into practice of the taking on the .
We
have seen deer and pheasants just outside the classroom window,
beavers cruise the river and a wide variety of beautiful birds stop
by, hopefully avoiding our two resident cats, Cello (the slightly too
fat lazy one) and Wooky (the sleek grey hunter), who graciously
allow us to use their premises on a daily basis. Don't worry, the
cats don't live in the school house, but they may pop by from time
to time!
From
spring to autumn the climate is delightful, and in the chillier
months an invitation to spend an evening around a real log fire in
the 'big house' next door with your trainer will warm your spirits and ignite your
imaginations as you pore over your next sparkling lesson plan!
This
is also where our legendary Welcome and Goodbye Dinners
take place, not to mention the Certificate Ceremony.
Tournan-en-Brie
Tournan-en-Brie
(Brie like the cheese - the local cheese is excellent!) is an old
medieval town, and there was even a medieval festival here earlier
this year, complete with costumed characters, jousting, stalls and
wandering minstrels and fools!
Although we are just around the corner from
Euro Disney, our rounded towers were here a long time
before Mickey's! Perhaps not quite as fairytalesque as Disney's,
Tournan-en-Brie is nevertheless a pretty provincial town with its
own market square, boulangeries (bakers), fromagerie (speciality
cheese shop).
| Facts: | Postal Code: 77220 / Department: Seine-et-Marne / Local Area: Ile-de-France |
| Population: | There are around 8250 inhabitants of the town |
| A bit of history: | Known as Turnornium in the 11th century, then Tournehem in the 14th century - 'Tournan' means 'turning point', which is highly appropriate, as our TEFL Certificate course is often a turning point in many of our trainees' lives! |
